We’re proud to share some wonderful news from the 2025 New England–Northern Inland Volunteer of the Year Awards held in Armidale this week.
Our very own Margaret Lenord was named Senior Volunteer of the Year, an incredible achievement that recognises her more than 50 years of dedication to the Inverell community.
Through her leadership with Inverell Community Support and the Inverell Senior Citizens Association, Margaret has helped keep vital services like Meals on Wheels, community transport and social outings running strong. Her care and commitment have touched the lives of countless older residents, making sure they stay connected, supported and valued.
Margaret was quick to say this isn’t just her award, but a win for the whole team. She sees the recognition as a celebration of everything our organisation does together for the community.
She now heads to Sydney in December to represent our region at the State Volunteer of the Year Awards – and we couldn’t be prouder.
Congratulations Margaret, and thank you for inspiring us all with your generosity, kindness and tireless work.
