We know that when you experience memory loss or live with dementia it can be a challenging time for you and your loved ones. Dementia impacts everyone differently, so it’s important to get the support you need.
Inverell Community Support is committed to providing services that support people that may have dementia impacting on their life, including our Golden Club and Carer Support Group.
We also regularly link in with the team from Carer Gateway and Dementia Australia.
Join us on Tuesdays and Thursdays in our Day Centre in Oliver St, Inverell for a fun filled day of activities such as music and dance, creative crafts, games, gentle exercise and theme days. We also undertake social outings to places of interest or to special events and we always chat together over morning tea and lunch.
One of our friendly volunteer bus drivers will pick you up from home and bring you to the Day Centre in Oliver Street, Inverell. After your fun filled day, we’ll drop you home again.
Sessions run Tuesday & Thursdays from 10am - 2pm. Transport is provided to the Day Centre if required. Call 6722 5888 for more information.
To support the carers of our clients that are living with memory loss or dementia, ICS runs a monthly Carer’s group.
This group is lead by one of our friendly team members that coordinates the program each month.
Who can attend?
Care givers that are caring for people living with dementia or memory loss, including those people living in residential care. Past and present carers ‘ bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in supporting the person living with dementia.
When is it held?
The Carer Support Group meets on the 1st Monday of each month.
Where is it held?
Inverell Community Support’s Activities Room, 48 Oliver St, Inverell.
What does it cost?
There is no attendance fee.
